Cut the front and back skirt pieces as well as the back straps on fold once, and cut the front busier pieces four times (one set for the lining), making sure each side is mirrored.

Sew the front and side bustier pieces together, making sure the notches are aligned. Make small snips into the seam every few inches to help it curve smoothly. Press the seams with an iron.

Stitch the bustier to the front skirt.

Stitch an elastic band along the waistline of the back skirt. To complete the waistline, fold it over twice (2 x ¼ inch or 0.5 cm) and sew it in place.

Overlock or zig zag the side seams of the skirt where you want to place the zipper. Align the front and back skirt pieces on that side, measure and pin where the zipper will start, and stitch the skirt up to the zipper starting point. Sew in the zipper, making sure that the top edge of the zipper extends by ½ inch (1.2 cm) beyond the edge of the bustier. We will attach the back straps to the other side of the zipper.

Attach the lining of the bustier to the top edge of the bustier top, ensuring that the right sides of the fabric face each other. Create small snips into the seam every few inches, especially at the center, to ensure a beautiful sweetheart shape in the front. Press the seams using an iron.

Pin and sew the back straps to the right side of the bustier, making sure they face inwards towards the bustier as they will be flipped out later.

Sew the sides of the lining to the bustier top: sew along the zipper on one side and hide the straps on the other side. Flip the bustier right side out and finish the bottom hem by overlocking or zigzag stitching it to the bottom hem of the bustier lining. Press it flat with an iron.

Attach the other side of the back straps to the other side of the zipper, folding the top edge of the zipper under by ½ inch (~1cm).

Finally, complete the hem of the dress.
