Sewing Instructions

  1. Cut the front piece once on fold, and cut the back piece twice, ensuring each side is a mirror image. Also, cut the front facing once on fold and the back facing twice, mirroring each side. Be sure to mark all the dart locations by making small notches at the base of each dart.

  2. Sew the darts.

  3. Sew the back pieces of the skirt to the front piece, and finish the side seams as well as the bottom hem with an overlock or zig-zag stitch.

  4. Stitch the center back seam up to the point where the zipper will be inserted. Sew in the zipper.

  5. Sew the front and back facings together, and finish the hem with an overlock or zig-zag stitch.

  6. Attach the facing to the skirt: Pin the right side of the facing to the right side of the skirt, matching up the side seams. Stitch. Then, turn the facing inside the skirt and top stitch.

  7. Sew the sides of the facing to the zipper.

  8. Lastly, fold the skirt's hem by ½ inch or 1.2 cm and stitch it in place.
